Kreta ...... a wonderful place to be

Kreta is the biggest Island in Greece and maybe (in my personal opinion) one of the most beautiful.

Why do I say that? Hmm maybe because I am in a way close connected with the Island as my half origin  are from there, but no it is not the real reason.
Chania old port

If your steps one day will lead you there you can experience actually different "images" of landscape  many say that you can do a small trip to the world just by visiting the Island.
With this post you will get a small taste from Chania and especially from the traditional port as it  was my latest trip the past summer this year.

But η Κρήτη it is not only about the nature and the beautiful coasts (you can experience also different  weather conditions that it deepens where you will visit). Kreta is about food and the most important is about people, despite the fact that a lot of people are  visiting the locals still keep the traditional spirit.
Clean water , isnt it ?

The traditional spirit includes the kindness and the hospitality, lets say you are a "stranger" and you are visiting the place for the first time passing by outside from a coffee shop (Καφενείο) don't be surprised if they will welcome you and ask you to join for a traditional drink (raki). Also don't be surprised as well if you discover how "easy" is to have an invitation to a traditional wedding and believe me you "must" see that ;) ,I will not say more about that hehehe I hope that you are curious enough.

So lets start, a small taste is the above pictures but if you really want to see more you have to visit by your self, some small tips are : avoid August if you can because is difficult to find accommodations and probably you will pay much more that if you visit there on September (yes on September the weather is still very good ;) ).
